Children & Family
Safe Care Services support children and young adults in the community including taking them to park, swimming sessions, football sessions, cinemas and other activities to support the development of their social and independent skills. In addition, Safe Care Services provide respite care to parents at home who are caring for their children and young adults within their home environment.
Caring for a child or young person in their own home is always preferable. Being in a familiar environment surrounded by favourite toys and possessions provides comfort and reassurance for a child or young person, regardless of their circumstances.
Ongoing help for children and young people with behavioural issues or disabilitiesAs a parent or carer of a child or young person with disabilities or behaviours that challenge day-to-day life can be overwhelming and it can be hard to know how to find the right kind of support. Our trained care assistants can help your family establish routines, assist with feeding regimes, leisure activities or even help when they are a little older and transiting into adulthood. We aim to offer emotional support and promote a holistic service at the heart of which is open communication with everyone involved in the individual’s care, from specialists and caseworkers to members of the family.
Help for families on a short-term basisWhen a parent or carer needs to stay in hospital for a time or perhaps recover from an illness and there is no one else to help care for their child or young person, Safe Care can step in with expert assistance and support.
